SCOEF has several opportunities to provide assistance to participating students and schools. Please see below for an opportunity that will best meet your need.
Note: our RVCF Student Scholarships and SCOEF School Grants have 2 funding cycles per year. Please submit your application for the cycle that is appropriate for the date you are attending Shady Creek Outdoor School

River Valley Community Foundation (RVCF) Student Scholarship Program
Full and particial scholarships ( Awards from $50 to $216)

Memorial Funds
Financial assistance through our 2 memorial funds are available for consideration at anytime. Students who are considered for an award from these funding sources would have an extrodinary circumstance of financial hardship. To be considered for a memorial fund award the student must be referred by a teacher or administrator from the students school with a description of the students circumstances and need.
Dow Lewis Memorial Scholarship Fund: up to $216 per scholarship
The Dow Lewis Memorial Fund is open for application to student's in school districts located Yuba City, Marysville, Live Oak, or Gridley, and participating in the Shady Creek Outdoor Education Program.
Kristi Geise Memorial Scholarship Fund: up to $216 per scholarship
The Kristi Geise Memorial Fund is open for application to students in the Marysville Joint Unified School District and participating in the Shady Creek Outdoor Education Program.
School Grants
Shady Creek Outdoor Education Foundation (SCOEF) School Grants
SCOEF School Grant Application Grant awards from $100 to $500
Due Dates:
Fall: September 12, 2011
Winter: December 12, 2011:
Recology Yuba-Sutter Grant Program
$40,000 per year for a minimum of 3 years (starting in 2011). Allocation descriptions noted below.
MJUSD: $15,000 per year minimum for 3 years (district controls allocation)
YCUSD: $15,000 per year minimum for 3 years (district controls allocation)
$10, 000 to be distributed through $1,000 Grant Awards! Schools are welcome to submit a grant application if they meet the following criteria: be located in Yuba and Sutter counties and outside of MJUSD & YCUSD.
